Its about time!

It finally happened. We have a red tomato on our plant! Actually 2 red, and about 5 more green. There were 6, but the "dogs" picked one. J was so excited. I felt bad, compared to what we've had in the past this is nothing. Oh well, maybe we'll try for more of a garden next year.
Our Labor Day weekend was very uneventful. Daddy went fishing almost every day, and we hung out around home. I was very productive and made a Christmas present for a friend. Can't say who, because she reads this! I am working on another present, with a couple more to come still. J and I were very productive and trimmed our California Lilac. It has been growing wild for about 3 or 4 years now and needed a major haircut. We squared it up and I think it will grow in nicely, at least now I will have an easier time trimming it each year.
J is impatiently waiting for the prunes to be ready at Grannie's house. He doesn't even like them, he just wants to pick something! Her apple trees are loaded, so we'll be making lots of applesauce too. I would love to learn how to can, I have a friend that I can hit up to teach me.
After a productive morning getting ready for MOPS to start on Friday (can't believe the time has already come!) I am off to eat lunch and clean house. What a never ending cycle!!

Hey Jen- i just got caught up with your blog. Did you find someone to show you how to can? I can't say that I'm good at it yet because I'm new to it but I can show you what i've learned if you want to try it. It might be late in the season to find anything to can but if you have something to can and want to try it let me know. -monica
