We went camping over the weekend at
Walupt Lake. It is up out of Randle, a long way out! It was awesome! Our friends Bob and Heather along with their kiddos, Katelynn, Ashley, and Max came with us. Three out of the four days were beautiful. It started raining on Friday before we got up and didn't stop until well after we went to bed. Everything was very wet.
Here is Camp Jacques. Yes, looks a bit trashy,
but when it rains you have to try and dry
everything out!
We had a new tent this year. It was very nice to have the extra room of a larger tent. But it was difficult to put together, and if my husband had his way we would have had a different tent. Since coming home he has been looking on Craigslist for a trailer. We'll have to wait and see if we are tenting it next year.
Bob and Chris took the kids out fishing. They caught some trout, but let them all go. The fish didn't really start biting until the evening, so the guys had a lot of time out on the water without the kids.
The most exciting for the kids were the Crawdads. They loved being out there to pull up the pot. Surprisingly all but one of the kids loved eating the Crawdads! Here is a picture of one pot of Crawdads soon to be eaten along with the dipping butter.
Here is a picture of the beautiful lake and surrounding woods. We had beautiful weather just like this on three of the four days. The water was VERY cold, but the kids still splashed around. I don't think mountain lakes ever warm up!
We had such a good time we plan on returning with our friends again next year, this time for a longer stay!
I'll have to start sweet talking my mom into keeping our dogs for that long! Love you Mom!!
