I really like the taste of homemade bread, and of course the way your house smells yummy when you are making it. My friend Heather has started making bread from scratch and I felt inspired. No way am I making it from scratch, for some reason anything that needs to rise does not work for me. I have NEVER had any luck with yeast. But bread in my bread machine always turns out great. I decided to try a recipe in my bread machine manual. Hmmm. A brick, I made a brick. Smelled awful while it was cooking too.
Well, went back to my tried and true recipe and out came a beautiful loaf. This recipe calls for "Vital Wheat Gluten" which my mother-in-law thinks is the key ingredient. Whatever it is, this bread turned out perfect. I am wondering if my husband will notice that he has fresh homemade bread on his sandwich today. Maybe he will surprise me (or he'll read my blog and know!).
Can you tell which loaf is the brick? :)

I noticed the bread. It was the greatest bread ever. Bread like that puts Rachel Rae to shame.
